Chris Says...

A cracking various artist EP - Agaric's massive glitchy "He Was Somewhere Else" opened things up, with Max Cooper and m0dularmatt both coming up trumps with their tracks. Also includes the comedy DJ tool "The Golf Club Dream".......

The Official Press Says..

The recent relaunch/rebrand of Flux Recordings, saw label boss Chris Finke's 'Petrolbomb EP' kick-start 2008. Close on its heels is the 2nd installment of the "Chris Finke Presents" series, which showcases new material from established producers and up-and- coming talent.

Agaric (Patrik Skoog) is no stranger to Flux. His 2005 'At The Gates EP' was well received across the board and this track from him is possibly the deepest track we have released to date on the label. Blending the best bits of techno, minimal and electronica, 'He was Somewhere Else' track is simply stunning - deep bass and clever edits have already made this sought after by a number of high profile labels, so we are pleased to find a home for it.

Next up (vinyl only) is a short track/locked groove from Chris Finke which features a recording of the 'Chairman of the Board' Gareth Cruse, recalling a dream he had about 2 men from the golf club. Despite its questionable origins, this is a useful DJ tool with a catchy hook that works a treat!

New talent m0dularMatt makes his vinyl debut with a classic early 90's style techno track. Crunchy angular beats and classy synth programming meet head-on with the biggest bassline Flux Recordings has been party to, to date. A big room tune, this has been tried and tested for the last 6 months off CDR.

The 4th track on the list comes from London's new blood Max Cooper, whom Chris first met Max while DJing at Nottingham's Firefly raves. Max has been turning head of late with his refreshing take modern dance floor techno, and this tough minimal workout is picking up a lot of attention from across the board.
